D&E Hosting State Senators for Discussion on Constructive Disagreement

ag8app下载 – In a public virtual event hosted by the Morrison-Novakovic Center for Faith and Public Policy at Davis & Elkins College, two West Virginia state senators will discuss how people can reach common good through constructive disagreement. The presentation will take place via Zoom from 7-8:15 p.m. Tuesday, September 15.

Sens. Stephen Baldwin, D-Greenbrier, and Bill Hamilton, R-Upshur, will be panelists for the event with D&E alumnus and Trustee David Morrison ’79 as moderator.

“We are deeply grateful to Senators Baldwin and Hamilton for their willingness to engage our students and to model constructive political discourse, particularly in these polarizing times,” said D&E Associate Professor of Religious Studies and Philosophy Dr. Bryan Wagoner. “Their shared commitment to reach across the aisle and pursue the common good for all West Virginians is exemplary. Having Trustee David Morrison, with his decades of experience navigating national politics, moderate this discussion is a privilege for D&E.”
